Create a framework for OpenADR conformance and certification and transfer the requirements and framework to standards organizations.
Provide standardized Auto-DR infrastructure and related OpenADR systems to advance and deploy OpenADR with Smart Grid technologies and end-use systems in California, to expand R&D to support OpenADR standardization, provide leadership for advancement of OpenADR within Smart Grid, and participate in ASHRAE TC 201 for information models related to OpenADR.
The overall goal of this project is to identify the most reliable and cost effective methods of achieving 1000 MW of Automated Demand Response to be used in conjunction with grid scale storage technologies to achieve a total of 4500 MW of clean ancillary services for the integration of 33% renewables onto California's electric grid.
