Agricultural Irrigation

Reducing peak load in California agricultural irrigation has tremendous potential because, although almost all the power is consumed during the months of May-Oct when the grid is already stressed, many irrigation schedules are intrinsically flexible enough to be managed around Time-of-Use schedules. Therefore, this scoping study is being undertaken, of scheduled load-shifting and demand response opportunities, and adoption challenges in California agricultural irrigation context.
